May 9, 2026: Happy Birthday to Henry and Lady Greer’s Puppies

Happy two-week-old birthdays to Lady Greer’s puppies.  They are doing well, and Lady Greer is eating more.  I have to give her a quarter of a whole Tums with calcium once a day.  I give it to her with the cottage cheese.  First time with it, she ate every bit of the cottage cheese but left the Tums.  I now crush it up on a paper towel and spread it into the cottage cheese.  I am actually giving her a half in case some is left over in the paper towel.  The blood work showed she was deficient in calcium, but everything else was ok.

The puppies’ eyes are about to open.  For three weeks, I will try and get my son to hold each one while I take a picture of the faces.

The brindle female and black female are at the bottom.  The female with the lavender collar is now in the pink collar.

Monday, I will be taking Fiona’s puppies to the vet for their six-week checkups.  They are a sweet group.

Raven had one black female on May 3rd.  I am thinking about keeping her.  The last time Raven was bred with Brodie, she did not get pregnant and with this litter only having one, I will spay Raven.

May 2, 2026: Lady Greer’s One Week Old Puppies

Lady Greer’s puppies are a week-old today.  It is hard keeping those Velcro collars around their necks.  The pink and yellow collar puppies are going to Greensboro, NC.  The lavender collar puppy may be staying in Raeford.  The wheaten male and brindle male with the blue collar are available.  Lady Greer continues to improve with each day.  She is now also eating the dry food.

May 1, 2026: Fiona’s Four-Week-Old Puppies, Happy Birthdays to Sandhills Scotties, and Lady Greer Update

I did manage to get Fiona’s puppies’ pictures before the rain began.  They are in this order:  Blue collar, Green collar, (Freddie), Wheaten female, and Thistle.

Happy May birthdays:

May 24, 2024:  Maxwell

May 30, 2017:  Morgan

Lady Greer is eating well now.  It will still take some time to get her weight back up.  I eat salads and bran cereal.  I don’t cook, so I was shocked to see how much boneless chicken breasts cost. Her puppies now have Velcro collars.  I will add some pictures of them this evening in this post. (My camera battery has to be charged).

April 30, 2026: Update

On May 1st, I plan to separate Fiona from her puppies.  Tomorrow should be a sunny day.  I am going to take a picture of the puppies on my outside swing.  Usually, when I do this, it startles the puppies long enough for me to get some pictures before they start moving around.  They are getting their Panacur deworming.

I took Lady Greer to the vet yesterday a long with her puppies for their dew claw removal.  Lady Greer is very thin, and it alarmed me.  I thought the puppies were not getting the milk from her.  The mammary glands as it turned out were full of milk.  The vet did bloodwork and an ultrasound on Lady Greer.  The vet was concerned about calcium deficiency.  She was given a calcium shot along with fluids for dehydration.  I gave her the second calcium shot this morning, and she will get her third on Friday.  She is also taking a medicine for appetite enhancement.  She is thriving on whole milk cottage cheese and chicken.  She does not like the rice.  I was up all through the night last night to monitor her and feed her.  Stools are solid.  She is nursing the puppies well.  She just isn’t eating much of the dry food.  I will put Velcro collars on her puppies tomorrow.

I am working hard to keep all these puppies safe and well.

I have a red brindle male and a wheaten male available from Henry and Lady Greer.
